Facility Use and Community Education Class Requests

Facility Use Classification
Classification 1 K-12 Program Activities
These activities directly relate to regular, extra-curricular, or athletic K-12 events and
include music performances, drama productions, athletic events, school clubs, intramural,
parent orientation meetings, award banquets, school-sponsored dances, etc. 
Classification 2  Community Education Programs and School Support Groups
This classification includes, but is not limited to, school-related support systems
(MHSAA, MASB, CCRESA, etc.), booster groups organized to specifically support District
activities, parent-teacher organizations, and District employee associations. 

Classification 3 Student Groups, Groups Organized to Benefit Students, Recreation Programs,
Government Organizations and Resident Non-Profit Community Organizations
These groups are classified as follows: 
  1. Student groups and groups organized to benefit students are groups that are
    interested in using District facilities for an activity with recreational, civic, educational,
    cultural, or charitable goals and are staffed by students or adult volunteers and whose
    activities are for the primary benefit of the students.
  2. Government organizations are defined as units of local, city, and township government
    and their established committees. 
  3. Resident non-profit community groups are defined as those District residents who are
    requesting use for their non-profit activity or organization.
Classification 4 Private Resident Use and Community Groups
This classification is defined as informally organized groups of community residents who
are interested in using District facilities for a particular use, requesting solitary, occasional,
or regularly scheduled use for an activity with recreational, educational, cultural, or charitable goals.

Athletic Fields & Courses* $11, per hour participation fee for 2025 - 2026. Fee will be reevaluated for 2027-2028 rates.
Varsity Field/Memorial Stadium Contact DeWitt Community Education for availability and facility fee schedule.

* The varsity baseball, football, softball and soccer fields and high school weight room are typically not available for rent. Requests for these facilities should be made to DeWitt Community Education and their staff will coordinate with the Athletic Director. Events my be canceled due to weather and condition of the field. 

An additional fee may be charged when an event is expected to cause excessive wear and tear on a facility or additional maintenance costs (i.e. turf repair, snow removal, air conditioning of performing arts center during summer months, equipment not listed here, etc.). This fee will be determined on an individual basis and will be presented to the user prior to the approval of the facility. 

Staffing Fees - Per Hour
Custodial - Could include opening or closing a building, set-up, clear-up or presence during a time when not otherwise staffed. $40 per hour; 2-hour minimum

Tech Department Staff - If projector, microphone, computer assistance, etc. is requested. $45 per hour

Performing Arts Technician - Required if use of sound and/or lighting is requested. $40 per hour

Lifeguards - Max ratio 20:1. $15 per hour

Kitchen Staff - Minimum of 2 hours. $23 per hour
